Paying our editor costs money! If we can’t make at least enough to cover expenses, we simply can’t continue doing this indefinitely. And ultimately, we’d of course like to have our own time covered too, at least a bit.
What do you get by becoming a supporter?

Ad-free episodes, for one. You do not want to listen to listen to us talk about mattresses and things. Trust us. While our first episodes don’t have ads, you can expect them to be a regular part of the public’s experience. Don’t be a sucker!
Starting with episode #7, the “post-game” portion of our episode is exclusive to supporters. You likely recall this from the earlier episodes: We talk about how what we just recorded went, read listener comments, and share recommendations for things in philosophy or comedy or elsewhere that you might want to consume. We also talk about things that might be coming up, like potential guests, and other behind-the-scenes matters.
We’ll also post (occasionally) some other supporter-only content, typically as audio. This might be relevant behind-the-PEL-paywall Partially Examined Life episodes, new comedy hijinks, or warm-up exercises (e.g. we recorded a bunch of fake clips for our trailer, a couple of which actually made it into the trailer. Listen to this below.).

How do I sign up?
To offer support and gain access to bonus material for just this show, use patreon.com/philosohpyimprov. You can pledge any amount and get access to all the ad-free episodes and bonus content, plus we’re able to make episodes available early there for you. You get charged by episode (the bonus content will be a free add-on for you) and can put a cap on the amount you want to pay per month (e.g. $1 per episode, maximum of $2 per month). Patreon subscriptions are very easy to manage, and it’s a great way to support multiple artistic projects you like (like, say, Mark’s other podcasts Pretty Much Pop or Nakedly Examined Music?). The system sends you an email when a new post goes up, and offers a feed URL unique to you, so from your phone, you just click that URL and it should add the supporter version of the podcast right to your default podcast player. Easy!
If you’re an Apple Podcasts listener and Patreon sounds like too much hassle, or you just want to support three of Mark’s (non-PEL) podcasts at the same time (and get similar ad-free/bonus offerings for each), then you can subscribe via the Apple Store to the Mark Lintertainment podcast channel. When you’re looking at the PvI page via Apple Podcasts on your phone, you should see a button under the latest episode that invites you to get a free trail subscription. If you stick with it after the trial period, you’re charged a small monthly fee, and your PvI (and Pretty Much Pop and Nakedly Examined Music) feeds on the Apple Podcasts app get magically changed to their ad-free supporter versions.
